I've been here many times before and it's safe to say this place never disappoints. This is a traditional Mexican food spot that's family owned over by Love Field Airport. It's been around for decades and is one of two locations in DFW! We ordered the eggs with chorizo plate that comes with potatoes and beans & the tacos al carbon which comes with rice and beans. Your choice of tortilla as well (flour or corn)! The food is very tasty. Good service. I also had the horchata to drink (which is basically a sweet drink made with rice & cinnamon) & it was very yummy. Once you're done ordering you pay at the front! The ambiance is lively & it is usually very busy-- but I am not surprised. The food is extremely delicious and traditional. Please go dine here if you haven't already. They take to-go orders as well!

It is great food. If you like Huevos Rancheros, theirs is some of the best. Refried beans, home fries. great. Great people there too.

This was a nice little cantina with some awesome flavored Mexican food. I was really impressed by the quality of the food at such an affordable price. We took our three kids, who are generally pretty picky eaters and all three enjoyed their meal as well. If we weren't just passing through, we would make this place a regular stop!

I tried Tipico's for the first time with my family yesterday and already want to go back! The food is delicious and served hot and fresh. Everyone was happy with what they had ordered and the service was quick. The restaurant was very busy, however the servers were still very attentive and the service was great the entire time. Overall a great place for a casual meal with amazing food!

Mom used to make an Italian version of "menudo" (tripe) with a spicy tomato-based sauce and potatoes. Grew up loving that! When I first moved to Texas from the Midwest I was excited to see "menudo" on the menu at an (unnamed!) Mexican restaurant and ordered it without having done my research. It was HORRIBLE!!! Really greasy and obvious the tripe was not cleaned very well; it was years before I would ever try again. My second try was at Casa Navarro and, while theirs was MUCH better, the fact they serve it only Saturday and Sunday as well as it being "just okay" (still a bit too greasy for me) prevented me from going back. Today after doing a lot more research, I ended up at Tipico's at 10:45am on a Thursday--they serve menudo every day! I was surprised to see how crowded it was, getting one of the final few parking spots in the main lot. After sitting down at one of the last available tables I placed my order... a LARGE bowl of menudo--being only 50 cents more than the small bowl it seemed like a no-brainer. I (gringo) also appreciated that the waitress didn't ask me "if I was SURE I wanted to order it" like had happened both times before; it made me feel like less of an outsider and more welcome to be there! ;) What I was served along with the chips, salsa, and corn tortillas was AMAZING! The broth was so flavorful and the tripe was mild tasting and delicious. I could have eaten two large bowls! I do agree with some that a bit more hominy would have been nice but did not experience the saltiness described by some. If you ever feel adventurous and want to try menudo, I'd say this is the place to go. It was by far the best soup made with tripe I've ever eaten (sorry mom)! As long as you're able to mentally deal with what it is, the appearance, and texture I am confident you'll have a positive experience. Don't feel you need to have a hangover to enjoy it! I will DEFINITELY return... soon!

By far this is our favorite # 1 Mexican Restaraunt. We love the authentic Mexican dishes such as Napalitos (cactus), Caldos, Polo a la Mexicana , Bistec Ranchero and Camaron Mexicana. For those who prefer Tex Mex the Beef Enchiladas and Spinach Enchiladas are really good. The chips comes with two types of sauce one is served cold and the other one is warm and spicy! You get the best of both worlds. You can't go wrong here. We love this place.

Tipico's is one of the few Mexican restaurants in Dallas I can confidently say serves a TRUE, AUTHENTIC Mexican food experience. My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. This ain't no fancy "gourmet" Mexican food or chimichanga/queso type Tex-Mex. It's, for lack of better terms, a hole-in-the-wall that serves BOMBBBB Mexican food. My mom is from South TX and she says the food tastes like authentic Texas Mexican food and is the closest to the food she gets back home. The quality is consistently great and they serve chips and salsa. The salsa is spicy af and not watered down at all. I love the red salsa. The chips always taste fresh. The service is always fast and the employees here work hard. We've never received poor service here. The dishes are amazing-I highly recommend their breakfast tacos (bacon & egg, nopales), their beef soup (sopa de res), and their res guisado taco plate. You won't be disappointed here.

Bottom Line: Wow. That's all I really need to say. As a recommendation from a friend, I checked out Tipicos, and it is so far, the most authentic and amazing Mexican restaurant I've been to in Dallas. From the homemade tortillas to the res (beef) and service, there's nothing else I want them to do to make my experience better. Lots of delicious warm chips and tasty salsa. And If you order a water, its a HUGE cup. Food: Our friend recommended we get the Burritos de Res (beef), and it did not disappoint. Must try!!! They have other additions that go with it, such as guacamole or beans, but as long as it's the beef burritos, they are so mouthwatering, you won't be upset. They come as three small burritos/big tacos with rice and beans. We didn't love the fajitas as the both the chicken and steak ones were pretty dry, but if it floats your boat, go for it. On cerrtain days, they have great deals like cheaper fajitas so it's worth it! Lastly, totally recommend the Horchata. It's a HUGE cup that honestly you could split with someone, but they do a great one. I get it everytime I go. Also the service is incredible. The waitress that we had, although didn't speak much english, was patient with our Spanglish and got our order down perfectly! When we paid at the window near the front door, who I assume is the owner or manager was super nice and I can tell he has a passion for this restaurant. Overall, you won't be disappointed if you come to Tipicos and order the burritos de res. Just know that during LUNCH hours, they are going to be PACKED (good sign) so avoid the busy hours. But oh man, we go here every other week for dinner it's so good.

Right by Bachman Lake and the highest rated tacos in the area on Yelp. You'll find ample parking and plenty of seat, yourself booths, and tables. Tables are numbered and you pay at the front. Be sure and get there early as it gets very crowded. The server was very friendly and efficient. Chips, salsa, and my huevos rancheros were delicious. My son and grandson enjoyed the tacos. The homemade flour tortillas were a hit with all of us!

Local Mexican food doesn't get better that Tipico's. This is what my abuelita made. This is what my house smelled like Sunday evening for family dinners. Zero flash. Great flavor. Protect this place at all costs, Dallas. Make it a tradition.
